Testimonials

Choosing a therapist is deeply personal, and therapy isn’t always easy to put into words, but these honest testimonials from some of my past clients might give you a feel of what it is like to work with me.

“Therapy with Samantha was incredibly beneficial for me. She created a safe and supportive environment where I could openly explore my thoughts and emotions. When I first began therapy, I was overwhelmed by anxiety, which was affecting both my personal and professional life. Through our discussions, I developed effective coping strategies, and learned how to better manage my stress and anxiety. One of the things I said at the start was that I would never fly again because of my anxiety, but with Samantha’s guidance, l was able to overcome that fear. Since then, I’ve travelled abroad and am planning a trip to Japan later this year. Samantha was so supportive throughout my therapy journey, and I know I can always turn to her for help if I ever need it again.”

“I first came to Samantha for therapy in 2022, after the covid pandemic had severely impacted my independence and my ability to go about completing basic day-to-day activities without experiencing significant anxiety.

Right from the initial consultation, where we discussed the nature of my struggles and how she could help me, I could tell that Samantha was kind and understanding, and as such I found it much easier than I had originally thought it would be to open up in my therapy sessions.

I remember that, every week where I felt I was able to do so, I was required to push myself ever so slightly outside of my comfort zone by doing a couple of things that had become ‘scary’ – such as getting on a bus, or simply going to a café. I was given a ‘behavioural activation sheet in order to be able to do this in a safe and constructive manner.”

“I was initially quite apprehensive about therapy.

I guess we fear what it might unlock?

Samantha helped me to reflect on this, to hold the mirror up, and to learn how to enjoy being me. After a few sessions I gained confidence to focus on, and rationalise key life events. I now understand why hurt had fallen my way, and why people behaved the way they did towards me. As a result of therapy I am more trusting about personal relationships and Samantha has shown me the way to release the habitual behaviours which so often prevent us from fulfilling happiness.

Thank you Samantha.”

“Therapy, with you, absolutely changed my life for the better, it gave me the tools to deal with all the challenges I’ve faced over the past few years and the changes are beginning to come into effect!”

“Going to see Samantha was the best thing I’ve ever done. When I started I was dark place where I didn’t want to leave my house and I thought I could fight my way out of on my own. I was recommended going to see a therapist multiple times but l’ve never been one to speak about my feelings so l didn’t. In the end I decided to start with Samantha and I didn’t stop talking, it felt like a weight lifted off my shoulders.

Mentally I’m now in the best place l’ve ever been and I would recommend Samantha to anyone as she helped me out of that dark place and I’ll always be thankful for that.”

“Before completing any activity, I would write down all of my fears, anything I thought could go wrong, etc, and afterwards, I would write down how I felt completing the activity and whether the things I thought would go wrong did, in fact, go wrong after all (they never did! This technique, based on the concept of Socratic questioning, in combination with the retrospective discussions we would have in our sessions the following week, really helped me to challenge the unhealthy and erroneous preconceived ideas I had developed about basic activities that were having a negative impact on my life, and it helped me move forward in my recovery to no end.

Thanks to Samantha, I am now studying at university, and am hoping to complete a year abroad as part of my degree – this would have been a pipe dream for my past self, who was afraid even of getting on a bus, but now it is something that is more than possible for me. Therefore, I would wholeheartedly recommend Samantha for anyone suffering with anxiety or agoraphobia related conditions.”

“I found coming to you every week the best thing ! have ever done for myself. After years of struggling with my own thoughts and dealing with anxiety and depression on my own because I wouldn’t speak to people around me, I finally got to a better place. I feel like I didn’t know myself, my interests or how to deal with the mess of things in my own head when I first started, and now I know how to manage my anxiety, I have learnt a lot about myself and figured out who I am as a person.

Aswell as the things I enjoy, I also know the down days are temporary. It really helped me knowing once a week I could sit in my safe space and let out my thoughts with no judgment. It also really helped that you and your space made me feel really comfortable that there was no reason to ever be worried about going to therapy!”
